Sydney is said to be ‘the’ place to spend New Years Eve, and that was the case for 1.5 million people watching the evenings fireworks. One set at 9pm to allow children a chance to watch a spectacular display, and then the countdown at midnight. There were numerous displays across the city, the main locations being Circular Quays and Darling Harbour.
